Despite the rain. Living and dealing with climate change in a small West African village
project summary
The main findings of this study were that climate is difficult to single out as a driver of change and human actions even at a small scale such as the village the researcher worked in. Gender, age, ethnicity matters in ability to adapt; people in the Sahel have adapted well to the changes experienced in the climate there over the past 50 years, and have done so by diversifying their livelihoods out of rainfed agriculture.
