On July 16. 2010, Mr. Ngo Tho Hung has submitted his Ph.D. dissertation report for assessment at the Graduate School for Environmental Stress Studies (GESS) in the Doctoral School of the Department of Environmental, Social and Spatial Change (ENSPAC), Roskilde University. The dissertation is composed of one volume including an article that has been accepted by the Journal of Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA,USA). The Department of Atmospheric Environment (National Environmental Research Institute (NERI) under Aarhus University) and the Department of Environmental, Social and Spatial Change (RUC), have agreed jointly to provide support for Mr. Ngo Tho Hung. The dissertation report has been produced mainly as the result of Mr Ngo Tho Hung’s studies at NERI and it is a case study conducted in Hanoi focusing on application and evaluation of two dispersion models. Operational Street Pollution Model (OSPM) was applied and evaluated for five streets in Hanoi, Vietnam. The other model, operational meteorological air quality model (OML) was used and evaluated at the urban background scale. The article for A&WMA, USA is titled “Air pollution modelling at road sides using the OSPM model – a case study in Hanoi, Vietnam”.
